  • Rhino render display | texture not displayed

    hi community,

I face this weird issue. In render mode display in Rhino, I cannot see the texture displayed .... I only see the diffuse color....
Something that is wierd because my other texture (like wood) are displayed... (seems like bitmap are displayed as textures but others like noise or checkers are only displayed when I render the scene with Vray...)

    Regards,
    -CC

    Hello,
Procedural V-Ray textures cannot be displayed in the Rhino viewport. Bitmap textures are always displayed, including those nested within procedural textures.
The only method to display V-Ray materials properly in the viewport is to run Viewport Rendering (VPR) by choosing V-Ray Interactive as display mode (https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...port+Rendering).

    Kind regards,
    Peter

Thank you Peter, I will know it for next time !

Btw It could be a nice feature to implement in the next rhino. Indeed, when i quickly put my bump map in the diffuse texture slot, it quickly alows me to preview in rhino the way my bumpmap will affect my material.

I'm afraid displaying V-Ray procedural textures in Rhino's native viewport display modes is currently unachievable. The Rhino viewport only supports Rhino's own procedurals.
As an alternative to the native preview you can always initialize V-Ray interactive rendering or if doing object mapping make use of the Rhino UVEditor texture.
